Super Monsters Save Halloween: parents' guide
Best for ages 3 and up. Rated TV-Y.
A gentle, upbeat Halloween short for preschoolers that runs about 24 minutes. The Super Monsters, little kids whose parents are famous monsters, change into their cute monster selves at sundown and set out to get their neighbors excited about Halloween. Along the way they help a nervous boy who is frightened by the holiday's spookier side learn to tell pretend scares from real ones. There are no villains, no peril and no bad language. Age 3 reflects how mild it is; the only caution is that it doubles as a showcase for the series and its toy line.
