Room on the Broom: parents' guide
Best for ages 3 and up. Not formally rated.
A gentle, rhyming half-hour animated special based on the Julia Donaldson picture book, fine for preschoolers. A kind witch and her cat keep making room on her broom for animals who help her, until the broom snaps and a hungry dragon decides to eat her. Her new friends rescue her by disguising themselves as a fearsome bog monster. There's no bad language or romance, and the dragon scene is brief, though it might unsettle the very youngest viewers. Kindness and sharing carry the story from start to finish.
What's in it
Violence

Language
NoneNo profanity or insults; the dialogue follows the book's gentle rhyming verse.
Sex and nudity
NoneNo romance or sexual content at all.
Drinking, drugs and smoking
NoneNo drinking, smoking or drugs of any kind.
Scary or intense scenes
MildThe dragon's attack is the tense part, and a muddy 'monster' rising from the bog is briefly spooky before it turns out to be the animals in disguise. Common Sense notes it may be a lot for kids under 4.
