Lego Masters (US): parents' guide
Best for ages 7 and up. Rated TV-PG.
An upbeat building competition that works for the whole family, especially kids who love Lego. Pairs of adult builders race the clock to make huge, inventive creations, judged by two Lego designers while the host (Will Arnett, then Nick Cannon from season 6) cracks jokes. Content concerns are minimal: an occasional damn or hell, some friendly rivalry, and tears when a team is sent home. The brand is the whole show, so expect plenty of pull toward buying sets. It suits about 7 and up, mainly because younger kids may lose patience with the long builds.
What's in it
Violence
NoneNo violence. Builds sometimes collapse, and some challenges end with creations smashed, dropped or blown up on purpose for fun.
Language
MildOccasional mild words such as damn and hell, mostly in the host's banter or from a frustrated builder. Reviewers report nothing stronger.
Sex and nudity
NoneNo sexual content, romance or nudity reported by reviewers, though some of the building teams are married or dating couples.
Drinking, drugs and smoking
NoneNo drinking, smoking or drug references reported by reviewers.
Scary or intense scenes
NoneNothing scary. The only tension comes from countdown clocks, wobbly builds that may fall, and emotional eliminations.
Worth talking about
Every team has to plan, split the work and handle disagreements under a deadline. Talk about which teams worked well together and why.
