Ready or Not 2: Here I Come: parents' guide
Best for ages 17 and up. Rated R for strong bloody violence, gore, pervasive language and brief drug use.
A bloodier, louder horror-comedy sequel for older teens and adults: right after surviving her in-laws, Grace and her estranged younger sister are hunted by a council of rich, satanic families competing for power. The gore goes further than the first film, with crowds bursting into blood, a body mangled in an industrial washing machine, and a woman beaten bloody at length. Expect more than 75 f-words, brief drug use, satanic rituals, a pit of sacrificed goats, and adult children killing their own father. Because the gore is more prolonged, we suggest 17.
What's in it
Violence
StrongRelentless and gory: people are shot, stabbed in the throat, burned with flamethrowers and impaled on spikes and horns, and about 20 people explode at once. A woman is punched and kicked until her face is bloody, and siblings smother their father.
Language
StrongPervasive: one count found more than 75 f-words and 20 s-words, plus a--hole, bitch, whore, twat and d--k, nine misuses of God's or Jesus' name, and an obscene gesture.
Sex and nudity
MildA couple kisses at a wedding, some council members wear low-cut outfits, and the heroine is seen bare-backed while changing. She is pressured into marrying a villain to save her sister, but nothing sexual follows. A man playfully slaps another man's crotch.
Drinking, drugs and smoking
StrongThe MPA cites brief drug use: marijuana smoke billows from a car, and one guide reports cocaine snorting that others do not mention. The sisters down vodka shots and pain pills with wine for their injuries, Grace smokes often, and council members drink.
Scary or intense scenes
StrongChase-and-kill tension from start to finish, plus satanic temple ceremonies with chanting, demonic imagery, a ghostly figure on a throne, a goat led in for sacrifice, and a pit full of dead goats.

Worth talking about
Grace and her sister have to rebuild trust while under attack. What does the film suggest about forgiving family, and about people willing to trade anything for power?
