The Furious: parents' guide
Best for ages 17 and up. Rated R for strong bloody violence and language.
A brutal martial arts thriller for older teens and adults who can handle extreme screen violence. A mute handyman teams up with a journalist to rescue his kidnapped daughter from a child trafficking ring protected by corrupt police. Children are snatched, held captive and hurt, and a child is killed in the opening scenes. The fights are long and bloody, with eye gouging, a beheading and a severed hand, and the swearing includes f-words. There's smoking and nightclub drinking but no sex or nudity reported. The harm to children and nonstop gore are why we suggest 17.
